Our sustainable mission

Sustainability
Sustainability is a concept that considers social, environmental and economic responsibility. It is our aim as YPLC to manage transparently our responsibility for social well-being, environmental stewardship and economic prosperity over the long term for all our stakeholders.

Our Mission
With over 50 years of experience YPLC stands for technical and durable clothing. We know that everything we do has an impact on something, somewhere. We know that sustainability and quality go together. We believe that apparel and ecological thinking should go together too.

Sustainable Qualities
Part of how we work is to use sustainable fabric qualities, so natural, organic and recycled fabrics. Each of these fabric qualities have their own ‘super power’. For example, bamboo learns quick, cooling you down or warming you up. It’s silky soft to touch. And it’s just as gentle on the environment too; growing fast and using minimal resources. Then there is organic cotton. It doesn’t need as much water or harmful chemicals as conventional cotton. Plus, it’s biodegradable so creates less waste going to landfill. Recycled polyester began life as a plastic bottle or two. Now recycled and reworked it’s so strong and very soft. Choosing sustainable qualities helps to lower our impact on the planet.

Recycling
Using recycled fabrics helps tremendously in reducing waste, pollution and energy, so this is making the environment eco-friendlier. With the re-use of recycled fabrics in the manufacturing processes or in consumption cycles, there is a strong decrease of CO2 emission compared to the production of virgin materials. Another benefit is that the garments created from recycled polyester can be recycled again and again with very less or no degradation of quality, allowing to minimize wastage.

Supply chain
We can guarantee the ecological sustainability of our garments, because we have developed our own global textile and manufacturing supply chain. By being transparent on our total supply chain - so from the sourcing of the materials to the final production - we can ensure that the quality of our products meet the standards of our clients and their customers.

Social responsibility
For us, how we do business and how we treat people are both important. We strive to be transparent in everything we do. We want to provide fair, safe and legal working conditions for everyone who works with us. That is why YPLC is a member of BSCI, to take responsibility and to improve the social performance within our total supply chain.

Win-win
When you are empowered with knowledge, you can make better choices for you and the planet. We, at YPLC want to help you making the right choice. While choosing sustainably fabric qualities and making the right decision within the supply chain, it can have a huge impact. It’s a win all around!
